Making Math Visible: Hands-On Workshop Resources

George Hart and Elisabeth Heathfield have curated a collection of math-art workshops that allow children and adults to explore math through faciliated hands-on activities using materials that are generally low-cost and easy to acquire, including cardboard, chopsticks, CDs, string, etc. Some of these workshops, like the Super Soma Cube (opens new window), have taken place at the National Math Festival and our science museum partners around the U.S. These workshops are recommended for educators and museum facilitators looking for new ways to explore mathematics in and out of the classroom.
