Dr. Suzanne L. Weekes

Dr. Suzanne L. Weekes is Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. Her interests are in mathematical and computer models that play a part in real world applications such as movie animation, the development of materials which can be engineered in the future, and cancer growth. She co-directs the national PIC Math (Preparation for Industrial Careers in Mathematical Sciences) Program (opens new window), and she is a founding co-director of the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute Undergraduate Program (MSRI-UP) (opens new window). She serves on the Science Policy Committees of both the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). She is also a member of the steering committee of the BIG Math Network (opens new window) and is the recipient of the 2019 Humphreys Award for Mentoring from the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) (opens new window).
